Apartamentos Cordial Mogán Valle has renewed, for the fifth time, the Travelife Gold sustainability certificate
Apartamentos Cordial Mogán Valle has received, for the fifth time, this distinction for the work done to minimize the environmental impact of its activity and for promoting sustainable development in the local community.
The Travelife Gold Certificate, which includes the international standards of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, accredits the fulfillment of more than 160 environmental and social criteria under a demanding external audit that Travelife repeats every two years. In this way, the constancy of certified hotels in their social and environmental policies is guaranteed.
This criteria is based on issues such as control of water or energy consumption, waste treatment, the treatment of its employees and guests and the involvement of the establishment with the community in which it operates. In this line, beCordial Hotels & Resort works to improve the environment from different fields such as the decrease in energy consumption in its establishments, taking advantage of renewable energy, technological and automatic controls of switching off and on or the use of water from natural wells for the irrigation of plants.
“From our very beginning we have opted for sustainability, for a tourism that respects the environment and our social environment. We work with an appropriate management of environmental concerns, making a continuous effort to reduce our impact without compromising the comfort of our guests and positively influencing the local community, contributing to the socio-economic development of the island and specifically of Mogán, where we operate a large part of our activity” highlighted Nicolás Villalobos, the CEO of the hotel chain. It should be remembered that Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa has invested in the ethnographic, historical and cultural heritage of the area by recovering the archaeological site of Las Crucecitas.
“These good practices in environmental management and social policies have been reflected in the renewal of the sustainability certificate in each biannual audit of three of our establishments. The first establishment that received it was Apartamentos Cordial Mogán Valle in 2011, followed by Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa in 2012 and Bungalows Cordial Green Golf, in 2013” emphasised the CEO.
