Cordial Mogán Playa Hotel, the jewel of Puerto de Mogán which will be 20 years old in 2024, and Cordial Santa Águeda Resort, an oasis located in Arguineguín, have received the prestigious Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle 2023 sustainability certificate. This recognition, awarded by the international organization Biosphere of Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), highlights the commitment of both establishments to the implementation of responsible and sustainable tourism practices and the promotion of an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
The Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate distinguishes those destinations, companies, services and tourism experiences that guarantee a continuous improvement in the balance between tourism activity and the fight against climate change, the cultural, social and economic sustainability of their activity, through the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The certificate is awarded after an exhaustive evaluation of sustainability criteria covering aspects such as the management of natural resources, the protection of biodiversity, the promotion of local culture, energy efficiency, water management, waste minimization and environmental awareness.
Both establishments have successfully passed all the evaluations and requirements established in all operational areas, with an outstanding contribution in areas such as responsible water and energy management, gender equality, responsible consumption, innovation or the promotion of local culture through participation in activities and support for cultural and educational initiatives to preserve local heritage.
