The Bayer 04 Leverkusen women's football team lands in Gran Canaria with beCordial Hotels & Resorts
- The winter training camp of the German women's team will take place on the island of Gran Canaria thanks to the sponsorship agreement signed with beCordial Hotels & Resorts.
- Players and coaches of the team will stay at Cordial Santa Águeda Resort, the exclusive accommodation of the Gran Canarian hotel chain located in Arguineguín.
- The Gran Canarian hotel chain is carrying out this action with the support and collaboration of Turismo de Gran Canaria and Turismo de Islas Canarias.
The pre-season training camp of the German women's team will take place from 13 to 22 January on the island of Gran Canaria thanks to the multi-year sponsorship agreement between the Gran Canarian hotel chain beCordial Hotels & Resorts and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Both the team and the coaches will stay during their stay on the island of Gran Canaria in the luxurious holiday homes of the Cordial Santa Águeda Resort, the exclusive accommodation that the hotel chain opened last year in Arguineguín, one of the quietest and sunniest spots in Europe. "With this sponsorship we seek to continue contributing to the development and promotion of the island as we have been doing since our beginnings. In 2020 the pre-season training camp took place in Playa de Mogán, where we have the largest number of beds in the chain, and now the team will be staying in our brand new Cordial Santa Águeda Resort in El Pajar," said Nicolás Villalobos, general manager of the hotel chain.
The Bayer 04 Leverkusen women's football team will train, with the support and collaboration of Turismo de Gran Canaria and Turismo de Islas Canarias, at different football pitches in the south of the island, such as Las Burras, Arguineguín and Maspalomas. In addition, they will play friendly matches with two local women's teams. "Two years ago we led with great success the International Women's Football Tournament beCordial-Mogán, the first international women's football tournament in Gran Canaria, which was supported by the Gran Canaria Tourist Board and the Mogán Town Hall. This time, given the health situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have to review the format, but we will try to ensure that this year there will also be an opportunity for Bayer Leverkusen to play against teams representing women's football from the south of our island", emphasised Nicolás Villalobos.
With all of the above, the Canarian hotel chain seeks to continue contributing to the development of women's sport not only on an international level with the sponsorship of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Celtic Football Club, but also locally.
